German Chatty Cathy Dolls

These are a few of my German Chatties. The one on the end is a Zaph doll. Also speaks German does not have a Mattel voice box. Courtesy of Joanie Achenbach

These Dolls were Manufactured in Germany by the Schildkrot doll company for Mattel. The dolls come in a different sizes. These dolls are 23in. tall. They came in blond and brunette, both with a bubble cut or braids. Over time the brunette dolls hair has turned green.

Spanish speaking dolls

These are 3 examples of the spanish dolls made by Nova Gama for Mattel. They stand 23in. tall .They came with blond, brown or red hair. Their name is Lydia

This is Pablita also Nova Gama. She is 18in. and is a Chatty Baby type doll.

Italian Chatty Dolls

These dolls were manfactured in Italy by the Furga Co. for Mattel. The large dolls are 23in. tall. They are Valentina and Mariolino. They have the black box and I believe they say 11 phrases. The 2 smaller dolls are 16in. tall and also say 11 phrases. Their names are Pierino and Corrierino di Pierina. All these dolls have fixed glass eyes with cotton eyelashes. The blond is often mistaken for a girl .

This is the front of a Valentina box. On it you can see the different types this doll came in. On a Mariolino box it would show the 4 different boy dolls.

French speaking Chatties

This a Caroline doll made by GeGee for Mattel. She is another rare doll. She stands 23in. tall She is wearing her original outfit. She says 18 phrases.

Africaan Chatty Cathy Dolls

Here are a pair of extremely rare Chatties. They are called Mariejtie and were made by the South African Doll Co. They came in body syles of 3,4 and 5 . They spoke either English with an American record or Afikaans. The doll in the blue dress speaks Afrikaans. The pink is an reproduction of the original dress.

Portugese CHATTY CATHY`S

These are another hard to come by dolls . The Prosinha Doll comes from the Yacker family of dolls. When the string is pulled she talks and her mouth moves. The doll in yellow is Tagarela. She sings, and whispers.She looks very much like a Tandy Talks I think. Made by Estrala for Mattel.

English Rosebud Dolls

Here is a good example of The English dolls, Rosebud. They had different looks and hair colors but had the same records inside. They all have the black box inside and say 18 phrases.All but one is stamped Rosebud on the back, The red head has Chatty Cathy on the back of her head under her hair. She speaks with a British .accent

Here is a close up of the Chatty Baby Rosebud. She looks identical to the Canadian baby except she has rubbery arms and legs and is stamped Rosebud. She has an American record.
